Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 3cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 0.25teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1(6 ounces) Can tomato paste
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • 2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • 3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  • 4. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the ground beef and cook until softened.
  • 5. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, dried basil, fennel seeds, and black pepper to the skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 6. In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper.
  • 7. Spread 1 cup of the tomato sauce mixture in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • 8. Layer 4-5 lasagna noodles over the tomato sauce.
  • 9. Spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles.
  • 10.Add another layer of noodles, followed by the remaining cheese mixture. Add another layer of noodles, and top with the remaining tomato sauce mixture.
  • 11. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the top. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • 12. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let the lasagna cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
